How would you like to get paid for being you?

(This photo was just taken last weekend with my painting “TRUTH RISING” which was commissioned by Dr. Angela Lauria to be installed at her Author Incubator HQ/Castle in Washington D.C.! Not going to lie, I’m pretty ecstatic to not only be able to paint how I want to paint and be paid for it, but to have this painting standing over other creatives like their muse and guardian angel!)Hello Friends,

Here’s the short of it: I have a problem and my solution is teach four people to make $5K a month doing what they love and to do so at a 90% off of what I charge for this kind of coaching.

Now, for the back story….

About a year ago I took a big risk in my coaching practice in order to align it with my dreams of being “the behind the scenes secret weapon” for world-class artists and women leaders.  I also really wanted to be able to create a model for my business that allowed me to keep my children, my marriage, my health, my sanity, and my own art-making as the beloved heart and soul priorities that they are.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m very proud that I dared. Especially now that it is paying off.  While it was scary during those months when nothing seemed to be working, eventually I started to get traction. It’s a little less than a year later and I now have some of those dream clients, I’m loving the work with them, and I’m proving to myself that the more I get to be me, the more I get paid to be me, and the better off everyone else I love and care about is as well.

I have helped one client make an additional $100K in salary, another $250K in her business. One client recorded her first EP out after a couple years of giving up. Another had a book deal. Yet another won one of the most prestigious awards in her field.  Another client was ready to retire very comfortably but decided instead to leverage wealth, a few decade’s of industry experience and a servant’s heart to bring a social-good entrepreneurial venture to life.  These have been just a few triumphs of the last year.

Making this decision to concentrate my practice also came with the decision to charge fees that I felt were consummate with the results I’m able to get for clients.  One of my mentors taught me to always aim to achieve a 10X return on investment in any coaching offer I invest in and that has become my objective for my clients as well.  So, if a client invests $25,000/year to work with me exclusively, it is my expectation that they will receive $250,000 in value by working with me.

So maybe you’re wondering what the problem is?

The problem is that something has felt off to me.  I have been bothered by the fact that I’ve left some people out, people that I have always said it is also my mission to help. (see “The Renascence Project” page on my website to read more about this).

In the last year I’ve had the opportunity to hear from and even to do countless free sessions with so many amazing people – artists, writers, musicians, life coaches, entrepreneurs, social leaders– who are my ideal clients in that they’ve got a beautiful vision they want to create, but they currently cannot afford $25,000/year coaching.

That really bothered me and I wanted to find a way to fix that. That’s when I came up with “The Art School.”  The Art School is group coaching program that makes the same transformative coaching I do with private clients available at a fraction of private coaching costs.  Participants learn the mindset skills and strategies they need to make their dreams, their art, money, and do it all in a healthy, balanced way that supports the rest of their lives – without exhausting them or ruining their relationships, health, or finances.  This solved all my problems – or so I thought!

Actually… it created a new problem.  Over the past few weeks as I’ve been interviewing candidates for The Art School, I’ve talked to so many people who do not identify as artists, but who are in a place where what they want to make a life doing what they love (some are life coaches, some are small business owners, others are stay-at-home moms) and they also have the particular challenge of wanting to do it in a way that contributes to their family’s income, but without taking a toll on the well-being of those family relationship, i.e., their children or their partnership/ marriage.

This brings me to the purpose of this email.

Much of the coaching and many of the skills and practices that I’ll be teaching in The Art School are based on what I’ve come to know to be true:

Making art and making money do not have to be a mystery.

Living a creative life, making a mark on the world, and having the skill set to make a predictable, stable income are all skills that you can absolutely learn, master, and are ones that make you and everyone in your life better off.

I also know that there are many ways to bring your art to the world that makes it a better, more beautiful place for us all and not all of those ways have to do with making a painting or writing a novel. It is for this reason that I am going to open up four non-artist spots in The Art School.

The Art School begins September 10 and will run for 12 weeks.  The Art School will teach you to not only overcome internal obstacles and blocks, but to create real work and financial gains to show for it.

I’ll work each individual personally to create a customized curriculum for their particular creative goal so that by the end of the semester, your creative practice will not only deepen and improve, but you will also hold your art – whether it’s a book, an EP, a website for your new coaching practice, a new body of work – in your hands.  By the end of three months you can also already be making an additional $5K a month as well as having a clear financial plan for continuing to make at least $5K a month (which comes out to $60K a year).

I believe deeply in the chemistry of a experience and the power of cultivating a strong creative ecosystem, so it’s very important to me that I carefully curate the environment of The Art School.  If you’re getting this email, you could be one of those people that I’ve talked to that didn’t identify as an artist but were interested in the group coaching.

If you are one of those people or this sounds like you, send me an email at leah@leahcb.com and tell me why you should get one of these four spots!  The first round of early bird pricing expires midnight, Tuesday, August 21

What would you love to have created three months from now? Whatever it is, The Art School can help make sure you get there.

With love,

Leah

P.S. If you’re reading this and are artist or know a particular creative someone who would be a great fit for The Art School, I have a few openings left for artist applicants as well!  Just as with the non-artist applicants, you can email me at leah@leahcb.com and let me know why think you’d be a great candidate! And if you know someone who would benefit (and by benefit, I mean grow and flourish!) from this program, I’d love it if you would please share this post with them!  Thank you in advance! XOXO
