The Art School Philosophy:
By cultivating an extraordinarily creative way of being, our extraordinary results become inevitable.
Be...Prolific AF
You have a deep, intrinsic desire to create. The Art School will help break down the dams that hold you back, dams of internalized shame, criticism, and other forms of oppression.
You’ll explore your own unique process in terms of voice, creative energy, rhythms and routines, and make real, deep, satisfying progress, building momentum resulting in a solid sense of internal and external success (as defined by you!).
Not only will you create more freely, more joyfully, you will find yourself living with greater and greater senses of joy and freedom as well.
Be...Affluent
Through teaching, mentorship, and structure, The Art School nurtures the development of highly successful, affluent creatives by helping you develop your own process for taking your work, and your income, to the next level.
“Affluence is our natural state…Through a series of A-to-Z steps and everyday actions, we can learn to tap into this field and create anything we desire.” – Deepak Chopra
No matter your money history to this point, becoming Affluent is 100% available to you. It is made possible the same way any creative evolves their craft – through sacred relationship and creative habit.
Create Art and a Life You're Forever Falling in Love With
Move beyond struggling to create work that’s “good”… move beyond shouting into the wind, trying to stand out, or hoping be chosen….
Instead, become the central heroine/hero in the story of living out your wildest dreams, the one who can’t escape the magic that she/he/they is/are. Results will flow from you have become (and not from having to overcome or compensate for who you are – THAT is a thing of the past).
Have an abundance of experiences where you’re knocking it out of the park, you’re feeling strong and proud and steady when you’re not, you’ve developed a deep sense of unconditional, high self-regard, you create magical, astonishing work you’re deeply proud of, obsessed with – work that turns not only heads, but souls.
You find yourself in a place of true, authentic gratitude for being a channel for yes, the potential you’ve always known or hoped you held inside…while also creating work that blows minds (including your own!) and brings you a deep joy for existence and love for your enchanting, precious life.
The Art School will help you create more sacred space
to dream…
and to become the person
who dares
and brings those visions to life!
here’s just some of what you can do THE ART SCHOOL
write a book
In my first session of Art School and coaching with Leah, I finished a book I started nine years ago (yes, nine!). You can imagine how happy and empowered I’ve felt ever since — and that’s a big understatement. THEN I did a second round of working with Leah… and finished a book I started one and a half years ago!
The best news is that I didn’t accomplish these creative goals by forcing myself into a grim grind but rather while (and, according to Leah, “because”) I was living the way I want to live, feeling the way I want to feel. This “extraordinary way of being” that Leah helps clients cultivate is probably why I incidentally — without thinking about it — lost ten pounds, got happily addicted to super sweaty cardio workouts, lost an intense caffeine addiction, and developed some mental and spiritual habits that will serve me for the rest of my life. These are some of my most easily-measured milestones. What I can’t quite describe is how solidly good and free that extraordinary way of being feels.
Leah is exquisitely skilled as a coach because of her extensive training, experience, conscious effort, fundamental kindness and, for lack of a better word, intuition. When you’re working with her, the result feels exactly like magic. It’s remarkable. I can attest that working with Leah is worth every penny and way more.
make [A LOT] MORE money with your music or art.
In a year and a half, I toured more than I had in any previous year and I did it with less stress and heartache. I made more money in one year than I ever have and it felt easy for the first time. I reached my goals and exceeded my own expectations for how it’s possible to fall in love with life without really changing much of anything except for the story I tell and the throughs and emotions I chose.
Struggle and overwhelm, self-doubt and burn out? They’re gone! Gone, gone, gone. And that has made all the difference.
find your people
Before joining The Art School, I had been listening to Leah’s podcast for about a year, and doing some of her workshops. I always had profound take-aways from those experiences and content, even though it wasn’t tailored to me. So I knew I would have an incredible experience if I could have those experiences and content except tailored to me.
I loved being coached by Leah, having her full brilliant light shined on me was life-giving and life-changing.
I recall I was feeling a lot of doubt about whether my work was “marketable” and whether my prices were right, whether people wanted what I was offering for what I wanted to charge. I was going through a slow period, not a lot of inquiries. I felt pressure to change my business or pivot my services to fit a proven market need. If people weren’t pounding down my door then it was a sign that what I’m doing wasn’t needed or working. I also was having challenges feeling like I wasn’t financially contributing to my family – my husband was experiencing a lot of stress and I felt responsible for that, because I wasn’t raking in income. Leah helped me reorient my ideas about being marketable, and to treat my business more like a science experiment, and to give myself permission to make mistakes and try new things without it meaning anything about success or failure.
I started just following my gut, trying things that occurred to me, and then documenting and learning from each experience. Some things didn’t work and some things did and regardless, I feel secure that I’m allowed to make mistakes and learn and then continue on. And some times I know I will have bad days filled with worry and anxiety. But on those bad days, I can remember that it’s temporary, and I can defer to my best self, who was making decisions that I can rely on. I don’t have to re-decide, re-think, re-analyze. I can trust in the decisions I already made. Even if I feel anxious and crummy, I can move forward and do the things I committed to when I was in a good headspace.
I was attracted to The Art School because I felt I did not have the kind of support I needed to develop a creative backbone and pursue my work with consistency. I felt I could really benefit from coaching around my creative work. I loved Leah’s podcast, and felt a connection to her kind, wise, and courageous nature.
I loved the coaching calls on Tuesdays, and the forum was really SO helpful because I could revisit those posts. I’m also a writer, so being able to write out my experiences, and receive Leah’s responses on the forum was very helpful to me.
The Art School helped me stay focused through my crowdfund. It helped me clarify my goals (this is a work in progress). I’m still digesting so much of the amazing guidance I received during the program.
I’m so grateful that I was able to experience this! And I know I’ll work with Leah again.
I joined The Art School because at the time I was looking for courage, and looking for others who are fighting this same fight, which is to say, I wanted to be surrounded by other entrepreneurs who were also second-guessing their abilities and their business, but were pursuing their passion anyway.
I felt like the classes with Leah were some of the most valuable moments of the sessions, especially when it was surrounding a specific theme like “Awareness”. One of the biggest conclusions was: You’re not alone. There are people all over the world struggling in the same way that you are, and there are ways to unlock your creative energy.
Just knowing that there are ways — when I’m feeling stressed or incapable, to sit down and be with myself and reflect on where my mind is going and redirect it towards positive thought — that was an enormous takeaway from the Art School. It’s almost like an injection of faith that all things are possible and they are made possible by attending to how you feel and what you feel is possible.
OWN YOUR IDENTITY AS A CREATIVE, As AN ARTIST
I hadn’t realized just how much judgement and heavy expectations I’d wrapped around my creative dreams. You nailed it when you said my creativity has come to feel like a burden and work. In fact, that’s exactly what I’ve been telling myself: that making art is really hard work. I sat with this over the past few days, and I found a few more thoughts wrapped up with that one, which you also so perfectly hit upon in your response. Not only have I been believing that making art is really hard work, but I also expect that no matter what I do — or how hard I work — I’ll never be any good at it, and nothing will ever come of my attempts. In fact, I realized that I expected my result to be… well, a whole lot of nothing!
After coaching in The Art School, my thoughts have shifted – I really loved the act of pushing paint around – I loved that color combination – Maybe this thing I made doesn’t totally suck (I find myself sneaking back into the studio and sneaking peeks at what I created) – I should do this more often…This whole experience has been so eye-opening. I can’t thank you enough!
LEAVE BEHIND exhaustion and overwhelm, BE RESTORED AND BUILD a life you love ON A FOUNDATION HONORING YOUR
ENERGY, RHYTHM, VISION, and values
Before working with Leah I was feeling very overwhelmed with all that needed to happen to be a professional sculptor.
I tried other on-line groups but felt they were too harsh and not supportive. My concerns before signing up were rather or not I would get enough individual attention to help me with my personal issues.
One of my biggest takeaways from working with Leah was realizing that confusion and overwhelm are just another state of mind that I have utilized to stay stuck and disempower myself. I know now that as Leah so eloquently pointed out during a coaching session, that when I interject the word BUT into a sentence it’s my warning that the big cover up is underway. “I am doing well BUT I’m still not sure what I’m suppose to be doing”. Being aware of this has helped me to move forward and not believe this false thinking.
I would highly recommend Leah to a friend. She is a perfect balance between sensitive yet direct. She has a very old, wise soul. She listens with her heart and her feedback is on target. I felt very seen and understood in spite of being part of a group. She spends allot of time on the written forum where allot of coaching takes place. I firmly believe you can get as much out of this class as your willing to put in. Being coached in a group setting can seem intimidating but the more I was willing to put myself out there the more I took away! And, Leah was the perfect coach to make it worth the effort!
These ideas are just a start.

you can create ANYTHING
you want.

A slightly longer version…
Coaching is practical, focused, and rooted in neuroscience and modern psychology – i.e., it’s derived from best practices regarding how the brain actually works and what actually helps people to make lasting change, achieve goals (including audacious ones), and live their best lives in the process.
We look closely at the thoughts, assumptions, and mental habits that are driving your emotions, decisions and results—especially the ones that feel automatic or unquestionable. Together, we separate facts from interpretations, identify what’s creating unnecessary suffering and limitation, and intentionally practice ways of thinking that give you more agency, clarity, and the ability to solve or dissolve problems that previously seemed permanent and move beyond, transcend or transmute obstacles and recurring stuck/painful patterns.
This isn’t about “fixing” you (because you aren’t broken!) or digging endlessly into the past. It’s also not just being told to “work harder, try harder” and “get out of your own way” – if you knew how to do that, you’d have done it years ago!
This work is about learning how to work WITH yourself, with your brain, on purpose, in ways that will make you fall more deeply in love with your entire self – gifts, flaws, strengths, weaknesses, triumphs, challenges. “Trust yourself” and “an inner, unshakeable confidence” won’t be just nice but empty concepts, they’ll be states of being that become your new normal on a day-to-day basis. We build these states of being by breaking them down into skills that you can repeatedly identify and practice so there’s no guesswork or crossing your fingers and hoping for the best involved. When these skills become so strong and deeply engrained, that’s when “trusting yourself” and “confidence” begin to just feel like second nature and you’ll find yourself naturally able to respond to challenges more skillfully, make decisions with confidence, and follow through on what matters to you – with joy and strength, not through willpower or white-knuckling. This is when momentum really begins to build because as you trust yourself more deeply, previously unconscious barriers you’d built about what is possible for you naturally begin to dissolve as you adopt a more confident, “approach” mindset rather than the old “threat/avoid/defend” default mindset that’s often unconsciously determining our choices, outlook, and what we believe we’re capable of going after, becoming, creating and achieving.
Sessions often include:
-
Clear, direct examination of thought patterns that keep you stuck or overthinking
-
Reframing problems in ways that reduce emotional reactivity and increase choice
-
Applying insights immediately to real situations in your work and life
Clients often say the work feels grounding, stabilizing, and surprisingly relieving. You leave sessions calmer, clearer, and better equipped to handle the exact situations that used to derail you—without needing to change your personality or push harder. Many people report feeling a sense of being more fully alive, more in love with their life, more confident, and more like themselves than ever before.
How much time do I need to dedicate for The Art School?
It’s a good question – but it’s not quite the right framing for what The Art School actually is.
The real question isn’t, “How much time does this take?”
But: How much support do you want for the life you’re already living—and the one you’re building?
The Art School isn’t something that takes time away from your life because this isn’t just another obligation. The Art School, the teaching, coaching, and transformation you will learn, receive, and experience are all things that support how you use all of your time, energy, attention, and creativity in every single area of your life, especially those most precious and valuable to you.
Yes, there is the time you spend listening to the sessions, and some participants choose to set aside additional time each week (often around 1–2 hours) for journaling, reflection, or intentionally applying the work. That part is flexible and self-directed.
There is also the way what you’re exposed to in The Art School changes your mind, literally rewiring your brain. Each week you have the opportunity to give your brain a tune-in into inspiration, support and it will feel like a weekly tune-up. You find yourself thinking in new ways, seeing in new ways, feeling differently than before – and that’s something that goes on almost automatically, behind the scenes, although you’ll definitely notice and appreciate the difference and its effects spilling over into all aspects of your life.
But more importantly: this isn’t just “one more thing to do.”
It’s more like going to the gym or the spa for your mind and inner life—the place where you are nourished as you simultaneously strengthen clarity, resilience, confidence, and self-trust so that everything else in your life works better.
Clients often find that instead of adding to their load, The Art School lightens so many burdens, replenishes their joy, helps tap into and develop greater natural strength:
-
Reduces spinning, second-guessing, and wasted effort
-
Helps them make clearer decisions faster
-
Improves their relationships, creative output, and sense of ease
-
Makes the time they’re already spending far more effective and satisfying
- Dramatically shortens periods of unnecessary pain, suffering and frustration and decreases their intensity
- Decreases patterns of avoidance and procrastination
- Significantly increases confidence and enthusiasm for projects and life in general
- Significantly increases a self-efficacy that feels energizing and generative, not depleting or from force
- Naturally directs their mind to a well-founded optimism and therefore generates more positive emotional experiences, including in the face of challenges.
Is there a Facebook Group or Slack?
No, this edition of The Art School will focus on the live coaching sessions on Tuesdays and the monthly studio/workspace sessions.
What if I need one-on-one coaching?
Leah works with a very limited number of private coaching clients. Email support@leahcb.com to let us know you’re interested in private coaching and we’ll share the details.
Why group coaching?
If you’ve never experienced it before, it may be hard to imagine learning and experiencing breakthroughs as part of a group of people you don’t know.
One of the many reasons group coaching is a powerful choice is because isolation slows learning at a neurological level.
And when learning is slows down, so does our progress. When our progress slows, we lose heart, we start to back off learning, taking action, and creating more changes and progress….and our progress slows even further. It becomes a negative downward spiral until things, unfortunately, grind to a halt.
Learning isn’t just about absorbing information—it’s about updating mental models. That process happens faster when the brain gets external input: comparison, contrast, and feedback. A group provides precisely this kind of external input, does so in volume (many examples to choose from), provides novelty and interest, and does all of this in a way that is lower stakes, i.e., your brain more easily and readily perceives the situations (problems/challenges) of others as much less threatening than your own. Therefore you can learn more easily from their problems because you’re not bogged down or blinded by getting caught up in the emotional storm of your own.
When you work only inside your own head, your brain tends to recycle the same neural pathways. Cognitive science calls this confirmation bias and closed-loop thinking—the mind reinforces what it already believes because it lacks new data points to challenge or refine those beliefs.
Social learning research shows that observing others activates many of the same neural circuits as direct experience (sometimes called “vicarious learning.”) Your brain treats other people’s problem-solving, insights, and mistakes as usable information, which reduces cognitive load and speeds integration. I like to call this “energetic learning” and “learning by osmosis.”
Isolation also increases metacognitive blind spots—it’s harder to see your own assumptions without an external reference point. In groups, those blind spots surface naturally, often without effort or self-analysis, things that again, can slow down the rate at which you are able to gain clarity, move beyond obstacles, make progress and create results.
In practical terms:
Learning in a group adds feedback, modeling, and pattern recognition—three of the fastest ways the brain updates.
Group coaching doesn’t replace your individual insight but can enhance and amplify it exponentially. This is because it gives your brain more inputs, more efficiency, and fewer unnecessary detours and stuck times in old patterns and emotional “swamps and fog.”
When you hear other people think out loud—especially people who are intelligent, thoughtful, and wrestling with real decisions—you start to recognize your own patterns faster. You spot the beliefs you didn’t realize you were carrying. You see new options you literally couldn’t see before.
Group coaching is not about being there just to force yourself to be “vulnerable with strangers,” although you will no doubt be inspired and feel your own courage naturally increase when you witness the courage of others.
I’d also go so far as to say you’ll feel lighter by witnessing others learn to lighten their burdens, real time. You’ll feel expanded and lifted because you’ll be able to tap not only into your lightning bolt moments, but you’ll have a first hand seat to scores of others. You’ll accelerate your pace of learning, growth and progress because of the depth and variety of perspectives you’re able to borrow from and then resource in your own life.
Over years of running The Art School, I’ve seen this again and again: people apply the work more quickly in a group, not more slowly. Someone else asks the question you didn’t know how to articulate yet. Someone else’s breakthrough unlocks yours. You get repetition, reinforcement, and real-world examples every single week.
And just as importantly: group coaching interrupts a thought error that, even though a lie, is one of the most insidious and deadly killers of dreams, not to mention day-to-day happiness, contentment, quiet satisfaction, peace, and joy: the idea that your struggle is uniquely personal or that you are somehow uniquely flawed.
You still get to have all your own beautifully unique insights, own decisions, creations and life.
The group simply accelerates how fast your mind unlearns and drops patterns of working against you, while simultaneously increasing how quickly it can learn to work for you instead.
In group coaching, you don’t just learn concepts. You watch them being applied in real time. You hear how other people think, where they get stuck, and how they shift. That process trains your brain to do the same thing—often without you needing to be coached directly.
Most people are surprised by this: you can have a major breakthrough while listening to someone else being coached. That’s because your brain recognizes itself in their thoughts. You start to see which beliefs are optional, which patterns are creating your results, and how to change them.
Group coaching also gives you volume and repetition. The more examples you see, the faster the work clicks—and the easier it becomes to apply it to your own life.
One thing that The Art School and Leah’s coaching are known for is that they are the antithesis of cookie-cutter. In other words, you will experience the coaching in a way that speaks deeply to you. And you will get results that are truly yours, not just one more place where you get caught up in a rat race and you find yourself “winning” a game that you don’t even really care about.
The Art School is very much about you reconnecting to the true you, the deepest you you’ve ever experienced, and learning to create from that place in a way that takes your breath away with how utterly enchanting it is – because it it is SO you.
Group coaching simply gives your brain more data, more practice, and more momentum—so change happens faster, with more of the kind of effort that is meaningful to you and with much less wasted time and effort.
Two questions we get a lot: “I don’t think of myself as artsy or creative. Will I fit in?” and then a similar question: "I’m not an artist. Can The Art School still work for me?”
Here’s a three pronged approach to this answer. The first a comment on the experience and make-up of Art School populations to this point. The second, a more mytho-poetic, philosophical answer. The third, an answer based in neuroscience.
First, over 50% of first time enrollees in The Art School first identify as non-artists and come from all backgrounds and walks of life – doctors, lawyers, teachers, stay-at-home parents, entrepreneurs, coaches, business executives, therapists, etc. A good number of that 50% also have, at first, insisted they are not creative. And yet something in them drew them to the “something about The Art School” that intrigued them. A number of those 50% do end up exploring and pursuing artistic, creative activities. Some even end up identifying as artists (authors, painters, poets, dancers, film makers, sewers, playwrights, etc.,) before it’s all said and done. But that’s not necessary.
Second, you don’t have to be “artsy” (I actually don’t think of myself or any of my clients that way) but, by virtue of being human, you are creative and you do have more creative capacity and potential than you could explore and develop in 10 lifetimes – and it is the gift and miracle of this lifetime to give yourself permission to do so!
People often ask whether they’ll fit in because they don’t see themselves as artsy, creative, or an artist.
What they’re really asking is something quieter and more vulnerable:
Is there a way of being in this work that doesn’t require me to pretend to be someone I’m not?
The Art School isn’t asking you to become an artist in the narrow sense we’ve been taught: public identity, performance, the output, the way you make money, recognition, or comparison. The Art School is a portal and a place inviting you into something older and more innately human than that. Creativity is something that sits right in the seat of every human soul, and yours is not excluded just because you “can’t draw” (by the way, if you want to, you can – ask me for astonishing proof) or you don’t like to write (likely because you’ve been force fed ideas of how it “should be” and “has to be” done!).
To live as an artist is not to make art all the time.
It is to meet life with presence like only you can, to stay awake to nuance, to allow yourself to be moved, puzzled, in conversation with and even reshaped by what you’re living. It is to resist the pressure to reduce everything to efficiency, performance, certainty, or premature answers.
Artists—of any medium—learn how to be in and not flee the unknown and the chaos and disorientation, confusion, and incredible possibility that can come from this “fertile void.” They listen for what wants to emerge, for “what wants to happen” without rushing to impose insecure demands that it come out a predetermined way because they know that dancing with the unknown and letting go of just the right amount of control is where the magic happens. They learn when to act and when to wait. They develop a relationship with mystery and life that is generative rather than frightening, that is whimsical while also being sacred, deep while also not getting overwhelmed, that takes life seriously because it is sacred, but themselves not to seriously, also because life is sacred.
If you feel drawn here, maybe it is because you secretly want to be an artist. And maybe you don’t.
What is very likely though is that you’re here because some part of you longs to experience your life with more depth, and imagination, and agency, and knows that a way to re-awaken, re-enchant and enlarge your life is through claiming your innate artistry, authorship, and creative genius.
That is the art The Art School teaches.
Finally, the response from a neuroscience/cognitive-based coaching perspective.
Creativity isn’t a personality trait or a job title. Neuroscience defines creativity as the brain’s capacity to form new, useful connections between ideas—and to evaluate and act on them.
This process relies on multiple brain systems working together: one that generates possibilities, one that refines and directs them, and one that decides what matters. When these systems are integrated, people experience insight, aliveness, and forward motion. When they’re not, thinking becomes rigid, repetitive, and constrained.
Creativity, in this sense, is not about making art. It’s about how you perceive, interpret, and engage with life. And it’s a capacity that can be developed.
The Art School helps you develop the capacity to think, perceive, and create the way artists do, which is not in the narrow, traditional sense of “being an artist,” but in the deeper neurological and psychological sense.
Artists are trained, implicitly or explicitly, to tolerate uncertainty, make meaning from ambiguity, notice what others overlook, and stay in relationship with the creative process rather than forcing outcomes. These are not artistic talents; they are ways of using the mind. When you practice them again and again, they become skills. Skill that, the more you use and practice them, the more second nature they become. The more second nature they become, the more you just begin to “feel creative” and therefore be comfortable with that identity.
In The Art School, you learn how to cultivate this mode of thinking, feeling, acting, living and being so you can experience your work, your decisions, the world around you and your inner life with more clarity, vitality, and creative agency. The more you are immersed in this, that it just becomes the water you swim in, the more easily you access your creative potential, the more your creativity flows, the more you feel more like you, in touch and able to use and express your native creative genius in order to create whatever you want and self-actualize.
Is The Art School for women only?
No! Men are absolutely welcome in The Art School.
Will I get business support?
I don’t teach formulas or blueprints, but I do help individuals achieve their specific, individual, unique goals in the way that works for them. And I do have a process I teach (the Simple Plan). I have created a multiple six-figure business as an artist and a coach – I’ve coached clients with multi-seven figure business and helped them create amazing opportunities and close epic deals. I’ve also helped people create their first income ever as an artist and also helped established artists increase their income, meet and exceed financial goals. I’ve helped people add zeros to their income and reduce or change their workload to something they actually enjoy and that suits their life. So, I’d want to know the objective for your specific goal. If you want to make more money, we can do that. More money, working less? We can also do that. Wider audience/impact? Yes. Different format? That too.
Do you offer a coaching certification for The Art School?
No. If you are a coach who wants to transform your life AND hone your skill set while being exposed to a very different approach to coaching, being a part of this program is an excellent way to do that.
What will I learn in The Art School?
The main goal in The Art School is teach you how to cultivate an incredible way of life and thinking for yourself, that allows you to reach your dreams – whatever they are.
I encourage all participants to 10X their investment in The Art School and will teach you the steps you can take (and then make your own) to get there.
Here are some of the reasons past participants have joined The Art School:
- To make more money.
- To finally create time for the creative project they feel guilty for never working on or finishing.
- To expand their existing artistic business.
- To claim their new identity as an artist.
- To figure out who they are, because along the way, they’ve lost touch with themselves.
- To launch a new business.
- To finally write that book.
- To enjoy their life more.
- To have a community of support. The kind of support that celebrates your wins with you and pulls you back up if you’ve fallen into a hole.
- Because they can‘t work any harder, yet they need ‘more’ of something.
