When my Grandma Donna passed away, I inherited boxes and boxes of her art supplies, supplies that I used to begin following the inner voice that told me I was an artist.

But there was something else in that box that has informed and fueled my evolution from lawyer to artist, writer, and coach even more powerfully than those materials. I also inherited a collection of half-used journals of my beloved, spirited, beautiful, fiery, talented grandmother. Her entries would begin with her writing about her dreams and ideas for art she wanted to make, stories she wanted to write, but then a critical voice of self-doubt would hijack her stream of thought. Soon after that, the writing would trail off and the rest of the journal would be blank.

Blank page after blank page. There were so many blank pages. This was so painful to me, I thought it might tear me in two. I felt like I was grieving my grandmother all over again but this time the pain went deep because it was grief for the art she’d wanted to
make, the creativity she’d wanted to express, the life she’d wanted to live – but hadn’t.

After this experience, I made a promise to myself to liberate my own voice, my own creativity, to let them be alive, loud, and shining- and as messy, awkward, “bad” – as courageous- as they needed to be in the process of their becoming- in the process of my becoming.

I also vowed that what I ever I learned for myself along the way, I would share with anyone else who also wished to free and come into the fullness of their own voice and their own creative spirit.

I’ve been working on this novel, Deborah of the Prairie, for a few years. While the story of Deborah is not autobiographical, it is the story of a woman overcoming all odds to do the impossible, to rise beyond her current circumstances, tap her sacred creative genius, and create the art she feels living and breathing inside of her.

The mission of this novel is aligned with the mission I declared after feeling the soul wound of Grandma Donna’s untold stories. My mission as an artist, writer and also as a coach and mentor is to create an example of the power of faith in oneself and one’s sacred dreams to heal and transform- not only the life of the dreamer, but all lives. My desire is to create a modern myth that convinces women of something I know so deeply to be true- the sacred dreams of women are the dreams of the world for itself, of a world longing for healing and wholeness.

If you have a vision burning inside of you, even if it’s been dimmed by years of neglect, failure, or self-doubt, let me help you bring it to the world. Whether it’s a story, a film, paintings, music, an entrepreneurial venture, making a million dollars, a philanthropy, a desire to run for office – no matter what form of genius it is that is yearning to be expressed through you, and no matter whether you are still very uncomfortable thinking of yourself as a genius, do your creative spirit a great service and let it speak and be heard in the presence of someone who knows how to hear it, see it, and hold space for it to roar to life.

I offer free twenty minute Discovery Consults just for this purpose: I do not want your pages to remain blank, your creativity to die inside of you. I will not be selling you coaching services during this call. If you want to work further with me, you can ask me for more information at the end, but this will be a laser-coaching session focused exclusively on you, your vision, and uncovering the ways you’re current blocking living up to your potential.

I truly believe we have so much more genius and potent creative energy currently on this planet than we give ourselves credit for and that when this potential goes unseen and unnurtured, then it is a great loss to us all. I see it as part of my life’s work and, frankly, just who I am and how I was built, to see who people truly are and of what they are actually capable – rather than just how their are currently presenting.

And it is not surprising but still awe-some to me to experience how the simple act of being a compassionate witness to another’s dreams and truth can change their life forever. I’ll also coach your socks off and blow the roof off any limiting beliefs you have, too, so come ready. You will leave feeling shifted and also with very concrete steps you can begin to implement immediately to create further change.

I look forward to our work together.

With love,

Leah
